Getaways SA, which is owned by husband and wife team Kym and Steve Brown, are behind the concept, which is yet another brilliant idea they’ve had during the COVID-19 crisis.
Initially, the 25 year old business, which manages a range of beautiful holiday accommodation options in the Barossa that sleep 2 – 24 people, along with offering wine tours for groups throughout SA, was hit hard by the pandemic.
Kym Brown, Director of Fun and Experiences at Getaway SA says “COVID-19 had devastated our business, as nobody could book our accommodation, and we weren’t able to offer tours until now.”
Kym and Steve’s innovations however, have kept things going.
Throughout isolation, Getaways SA have been “Bringing Barossa To Your Door” where they offer a package of chef prepared meals including 2 mains, 2 desserts, a cheese platter and 2 bottles of Dell’uva Wine all for $120 delivered to the doors of people throughout Adelaide suburbs.
Now, Getaways SA have joined forces with Barossa Chef Stuart Oldfield who is the owner of Musque Food & Wine in Tanunda, along with Handmade Catering, to create a unique dining experience for Barossa holidaymakers.
Those who venture out to the Barossa for a short stay-cation and stay at a Getaways SA property, will soon get to enjoy a very unique in-house dining experience from the comfort of their holiday home.
With a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 20, all in line with social distancing guidelines, guests will have their very own personal chef prepare a feast of epic proportions.
The indulgent meal will start off with freshly-baked bread, followed by a 3-course shared meal or set menu and then a cheese plate to finish off for dessert.
Pricing starts from $195 per person for two people (not including accommodation), but the more you book, the more affordable it gets.
And as a guide, for a group of 6 people, it’s $170 per person (not including accommodation).
Kym says “Stuart Oldfield’s food is incredible and you will feel like royalty in the comforts of your own holiday accommodation.”
“It’s going to be totally divine.”
All the crockery, cutlery and linen napkins will also be included in the meal, meaning that guests will not have to lift a finger or bring along anything.
