Indulge in a delicious wine and chocolate pairing at Bracegirdle’s

“Wine without the snobbery” – Front Door Wine Tours

The collaboration that was unexpected, but welcomed. Wine and chocolate? We’re sold.

On the May 27, Front Door Wine Tours will be hosting its second wine and chocolate pairing at Bracegirdle’s Glenelg.

After a great reception to round one, round two promises to deliver the same experience with a tasting consisting of four wines and four accompanying chocolates. Bracegirdle’s Glenelg will be hosting the event as well as providing their sumptuous chocolates for the tasting.

Founder and owner of Front Door Wine Tours, Jamie Lloyd-Jones, explained how he came up with the idea of a wine and chocolate pairing.

“The idea for a wine and chocolate pairing came about when I was trying Bracegirdles’ ‘Heart of Passion’ chocolate, and I thought it tasted like the Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc! So I thought it would make for a great pairing.

“I always had the idea to do wine and chocolate pairings because I wanted to show people that there’s more to chocolate than just Cadbury.” Jamie says.

Bracegirdle’s definitely proves that there is more to chocolate than what’s in supermarket isles. With all of their award winning chocolates house made in their Cross Road store, there is no doubt that Bracegirdle’s is the perfect fit for this home grown offering.

The tasting will consist of wines and chocolates carefully curated by Jamie in an attempt to catch people off guard with flavour combinations.

“I try to compare the chocolates with wines that people haven’t necessarily thought about. I take them through the flavour profile of the wines as well as answer any questions that anyone may have about the wines themselves.

“I also go into why we drink wine a certain way. Why we swirl it? Why we let it breathe? Those are just some the questions that I answer throughout the evening.” Jamie says.

Front Door Wine Tours also offer a winery experience in the comfort of your own home, so be sure to check out their website to book your next event.

From the Coonawara to Clare Valley, some of Adelaide’s best wines will be on show. If all of that didn’t convince you, there will also be a goody bag that you will be able to take home after the event.
