Forget holding up a boom box playing In Your Eyes in someone’s front yard or — for any Brooklyn Nine Nine fans out there — washing your partner’s hair. Anyone who knows anything about romance knows that long walks on the beach are obviously the most romantic thing you can do with your partner.
Which is why a Valentine’s Day dinner at the Stamford Grand might just be the perfect thing for any of you Casanovas out there. You just can’t go wrong with a beach front venue!
Not only are you gifted with a complimentary glass of sparkling on arrival, but you’ll get to indulge in a three course meal designed by Stamford Grand’s executive chef as you take in the stretching views of the Glenelg esplanade.
You’ll start with a tasting plate for two including Spencer Gulf prawns, Buffalo mozzarella, Sicilian olives, prosciutto and more, before moving on to a main of either poached Mulloway fillet with garlic, tomato, chilli and capers, or slow-roasted Scotch fillet, served with steamed garlic and porcini mushroom sauce.
Dessert features a share plate of mini desserts including vanilla bean panna cotta, chocolate dipped strawberries, and passionfruit kisses.
You can then choose to take the party into the Horizons Cocktail Lounge and spoil yourselves with a Strawberry Kisses Colada (which are $15 for the whole month of Feb!) or step out onto the beach to catch the last rays of light as the sun sets — swoon!
Beach front not quite your thing? Stamford Plaza in the city is also hosting a romantic Argentinean dinner at La Boca Bar and Grill Adelaide.
Think passion! Think fire! Think a four-course shared dining experience, featuring a selection of meat and seafood cooked over La Boca Bar and Grill’s famous ‘asador’ fire pit, a delicious sharing dessert, and a glass of French champagne on arrival!
There is also a Dine & Stay option, if you feel like you’ve over-indulged at dinner (or feel like you haven’t yet indulged enough?).
