Luma Restaurant and Bar, located within the iconic Playford Hotel, invites you to share its exquisite high tea experience. Held every Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 1pm to 4pm, this indulgent affair is a perfect afternoon accompaniment to every occasion.
The high tea is called ‘Le Gouter’ which comes from the French verb ‘gouter’ meaning ‘to taste’. The menu is renowned for its balance, offering an array from savoury to sweet. Guests will enjoy oysters with nduja butter, Turkish bread with smoked salmon and whipped ricotta for savoury treats. The sweet offerings include delicious treats like lemon meringue pops with white chocolate crumble and raspberry tarts with frangipane. High tea diners will also be able to enjoy a range of loose-leaf teas and espresso coffee throughout the afternoon.
Right now as part of Luma’s Winter Offer enjoy an updated seasonal menu, guests have the opportunity to sip on Mixologist Tom’s exclusive Winter cocktail infused with cinnamon-infused vodka, fresh blueberry, apple juice, and maple syrup, and as a special treat, enjoy a complimentary takeaway bon bon gift available only with this offer.
Luma is not only known for its exquisite dining, but also for its award-winning design. Recently, it was honoured as the 2023 winner of the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards in the Australia & Pacific Hotel category. The awards are highly regarded and recognised the best in food and beverage space design worldwide.
The interior of Luma was masterfully reimagined by Hachem Design, known for creating stirring architecture. Its blend of Art Nouveau and contemporary sophistication has made it a destination venue. The highlight is a handcrafted 800m lighting sculpture that serves as a stunning focal point of the decor.
“My brief to the designer for the reinvigoration of The Playford was simple: bring back the WOW! Fady Hachem managed to recapture the glamour of Art Nouveau and turn Luma Restaurant & Bar into a genuine destination venue, marrying the culinary ethos of European simplicity with a sophisticated yet casual elegance,” Director Daniel Sparr shared his enthusiasm about the recognition.
“Being awarded ‘One Chef Hat’ by the Australian Good Food Guide two years in a row, and ‘Best Design Restaurant & Bar’ in the Australia and Pacific region is huge recognition we are proud of.”
Located on the ground floor of The Playford Hotel, Luma offers a seating capacity for 180 guests.
