High-coffee_570-by-270If you’ve ever experienced the desire to enjoy a nice, sumptuous High Tea, but have been put off by the fact that you’re just not a tea drinker, your problem is solved.

InterContinental Adelaide has teamed up with chef and coffee connoisseur, Stefano Manfredi, to be the first and only place in South Australia to offer High Coffee – a culinary journey of coffee infused delicacies matched with a selection of perfected Espresso di Manfredi coffee.

From this September, Adelaide’s most luxurious five-star hotel will turn a simple cup of coffee into a culinary experience.

Beginning with an Espresso Martini, enjoy Wagyu beef Panini, chocolate espresso crepes, and infused cinnamon and ginger chocolate crème brulée alongside coffees of choice. Before switching from savoury to sweet delights, cleanse your palate with green apple sorbet, before finishing with a signature Cafè Corretto – a shot of espresso ‘corrected’ with grappa.

Stefano Manfredi says he is excited to be a part of the concept ,serving coffee specialties with a carefully matched selection of delicacies.

“The InterContinental Adelaide’s High Coffee is such a wonderful experience. Not only do you have expert baristas making your favourite Espresso di Manfredi coffee, but then to also have it matched to savoury and sweet delicacies prepared by skilled chefs is a perfect way to spend some time with friends,” said Mr Manfredi.

InterContinental Adelaide General Manager Colin McCandless says the hotel wanted to offer guests an afternoon tea with a difference – one that will entice coffee lovers to experience an extravagant level of indulgence.

“Adelaide has a strong coffee culture and the sophistication of coffee drinking has become apparent. As consumers’ palates are maturing and becoming more discerning in terms of flavour and origins of coffee beans, we are proud to bring High Coffee to South Australia,” said Mr. McCandless.

High coffee is $59 per person and includes sweet and savoury treats presented on a contemporary twist on the traditional three tiered stand and a martini, cafe freddo and your choice of coffee or signature cafe corretto. It is available in the Atrium Lounge daily from 12pm-4.00pm, and bookings are required 24 hours prior.
