InterContinental Adelaide Wins 4 Awards At The Restaurant & Catering SA Awards For Excellence

InterContinental Adelaide are raising their champagne glasses after winning four categories at the Restaurant & Catering South Australia Awards for Excellence 2011. The awards were presented at a prestigious black tie event, held at the Adelaide Convention Centre on the 25th July, attended by almost 1200 guests.

In its 13th year, the Restaurant & Catering South Australia Awards for Excellence program judged InterContinental Adelaide winners in the categories of Employer, Professional Development, Apprentice Chef – Blake Coleman, and Hall of Fame, Restaurant in a Hotel – Shiki Restaurant.

“We are delighted to receive these four awards from this well regarded and recognised hospitality association”, said James Allen, General Manager, InterContinental Adelaide. “We believe it is our successful holistic approach to training and education as well as our commitment to excellent service and quality that sets us apart from our competitors, makes us an employer of choice and cements our reputation as Adelaide’s leading luxury hotel”.

Shiki Restaurant continues to excel and was inducted into the Hall of Fame after winning the best Restaurant in a Hotel for three consecutive years. Shiki is renowned for Japanese tempura, sushi and sashimi and of course teppanyaki. Shiki combines the best seasonal produce, with talented chefs and five-star service, to provide a memorable dining experience.

Judges visited all the nominating restaurants and caterers to assess their venues against the RACES (Restaurant & Catering Evaluation) System and the highest score received in each category was announced at the Restaurant & Catering Awards event.
