As international passenger flights resume arrival in South Australia, SA Health officials have announced which hotel will be the interim COVID-19 facility for arrivals.
Tomorrow 72 travellers are landing in SA on the Singapore Airlines flight and will be taken to the Pullman Hotel which has already functioned as a medi-hotel.
The Pullman Hotel will now have two dedicated floors which will work under a new framework and model of care for COVID-19 patients.
The new floors will includes 24/7 staffing who can only remain on these floors. These staff members also cannot work simultaneously at more than one high risk employment such as aged care.
Following the Parafield Cluster, a ventilation review will be conducted in the Peppers Hotel.
SA Health have stated that the air flow cycle in the Pullman occurs every 30 minutes and is more similar to hospitals than hotels.
SA Health will next be aiming to find a permanent site.
SA Health Minister, Stephen Wade says that officials “have a moral obligation” to bring stranded Australians back home.
