Interstate Fringe shows going ahead as rumours squashed

The Adelaide Fringe Festival has squashed uncertainty of interstate and international shows, confirming they will be going ahead in full steam.

The Adelaide Fringe Festival is about to kick off this weekend with 31 magical balmy days and nights giving the city a much-needed dose of fun and festivities.

It’s known for drawing in renowned interstate and international artists and shows, brimming the city with diverse talent and entertainment.

While the COVID pandemic has barred the once unlimited potential of national and global talent from coming the Adelaide particularly in 2021, this year the Fringe is bringing this diversity back into the city from February 18 to March 20.

The Fringe Festival this year will take you back to the classic days in the Garden and Gluttony, reigning in OG vibes with national and international shows weaved in with SA talent.

The 2022 program is loaded with 1,053 shows made up of a combination of talent. There’s 646 SA shows making up 61% of the program, while there’s 332 interstate acts making up 31%. Fringe will see 75 international shows jetting in and making up 7% of the program.

A number of interstate shows and artists have been reached out to and questioned if their show was going ahead amongst the COVID wave, even though there has been no reports of shows pulling out.

The Adelaide Fringe Festival has squashed this uncertainty revealing the diverse range on offerings and confirming the interstate and international acts will be going ahead without a doubt.

Not only are artists themselves crossing the borders into SA, but the Fringe participants are heading to the city too. Out of 3,568 participants, 73% are from SA, with 21% interstate and 5% international participants.

With the recent easing of restrictions for outdoor dining, visitors can experience mad March in its (almost) full potential.

Restrictions have eased in outdoor settings from 1 person per 2 square metres to 3 per 4 square metres. Stand up consumption is also now allowed in outdoor settings, so get ready for vibrant sunny days, refreshing drinks in the open-air and diverse entertainment you’ve been missing.

It’s the Fringe Festival you know and love, just like it used to be.
