And newcomer rapper, writer and champion break-dancer Bam Bam is no exception.

With a melodic sound, honest lyrics and boundless energy, his debut EP The Good Life is set to cause a ruckus on the hip hop circuit.

Melbourne born Bam Bam (Joel Chamaa) has focussed on a successful breakdancing career up until recently when his love of music took precedence.

“Break dancing has been my love over the last ten years or more and music was a hobby; then things slowly switched around where music started to become a little bit more serious,” he said.

The Good Life EP, released later this month features his first single, ‘Bags Packed’, which is set to be a party favourite, closely followed by second single ‘Feel Like I’m Alive’.

If you like Bliss n Eso, you’ll love Bam Bam and his melodious rapping which promises to be a crowd and radio pleaser.

However, Bam Bam says his favourite on the EP is the candidly raw ‘Better Man’; a song about his struggle with the impact touring has on relationships.

“It’s all true and straight from the guts; from the heart. When you’re on the road constantly you’re partying a lot so that spun me out of control which ultimately led to the destruction of my relationship. So that song is an outlet,” he said.

After successful tours with 360 and Mantra, Bam Bam said he’s looking forward to touring his own music when he brings ‘The Good Life’ to the stage in April.

“When I was touring with 360, the place is packed. When you play your own show, you’re like, is anyone actually going to come? The only song I’ve performed live off the EP is Bags Packed so I am looking forward to getting my tracks out there and seeing what people think of them,” he said.

Bam Bam’s debut EP, The Good Life will be released on Friday, March 28th through Ten To Two Records and can be pre-ordered through iTunes.

‘The Good Life’ tour hits the Ed Castle in Adelaide on April 17 with special guest, Savo; tickets can be booked through Oztix.
