One of Australia’s best tribute acts, The 60 Four, are warming up to embark on their first ever Australian tour. This Adelaide based group are already in demand around our state and have recently returned from a successful season in Perth. Now it’s the rest of Australia’s turn to witness the magic that is The 60 Four.
Celebrating some of the most influential artists from the 1960s, including The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Johnny O’Keefe and of course Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, The 60 Four promise you a dazzling, high energy, fully choreographed production, backed by a stunning 9-piece band.
Director of The 60 Four, Ben Francis sat down with Glam Adelaide to discuss their upcoming tour.
Ben shared with us where the group’s love of 1960s music stemmed from.
“Our high school music teacher, Michael Griffiths, introduced us to the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. The rest is history!
“Basically, it was the intricate harmonies of the ’60s that drew us in immediately. The ‘60s was such a musically rich and experimental time, and you can still hear its influence in songs produced today. When we perform, younger people often approach us saying, “I had no idea I knew so many of these tunes!” That’s the magic of the ’60s; it’s timeless, cross-generational, and it resonates with everyone, young and old.”
The 60 Four have certainly achieved a lot. We asked Ben if the group ever takes a step back and ask themselves “how did that happen”?
“Absolutely, I often find myself taking a moment of reflection. It can be so surreal. Our journey began through a genuine, shared passion for music, in a music classroom, in Year 10. Like, what? And over the years, we’ve shared that passion with so many incredible audiences. I feel so lucky to be able to create something so unique, and so special, and share it with my best mates.
“On the other side of the coin though, I can tell you that we got here through hard work. A lot of it. Our ambition and our drive has always set us apart. There have been many challenges. We lost over $20,000 when our tour to Perth was cancelled during the Covid pandemic. I’ve lost jobs, relationships, family time, and holidays. So, in some ways, the answer is sacrifice.
“But when you get to make music with your best mates, and when you see the smiles and joy in the eyes of audiences all around the country, the sacrifice is paid off in full.”
With so many brilliant performances under their belt, are there any particular favourite memories?
“There have been so many favourite memories. Our group chat went crazy when I posted this question there.
– Playing a gig at Thebby last year was mental. We were literally following the steps of our idols from the ’60s who had graced the same stage. It had always been a bucket-list thing for us, so it was just so special. We brought back the other ‘iterations’ of The 60 Four, too, and performed a set of The Beatles with all seven of us.
– We’ve always held a soft spot for regional communities, so taking our music to places like Kangaroo Island and Whyalla has been a highlight. A standout memory was partnering with GFG during the Adelaide Fringe, enabling us to offer special, $5 ticket prices in Whyalla to people who wouldn’t have been able to attend otherwise. And earlier this year, we launched the “Pay It Forward” campaign for flood-affected people in Renmark, which enabled over 100 people to attend the show free-of-charge.
– Our first public show outside of South Australia was in Perth. We had no clue how we were going to be received and then we heard the call and response in Sweet Caroline and knew it was all going to be okay.
“There were also split pants and badly mis-remembered song lyrics. But let’s focus on the positives.”

In September this year, The 60 Four and their band are hitting the road for their biggest tour yet — and it’s sure to have you up and dancing with their exquisite sound.
“The tour is a big step for us, covering Ballarat, Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. This entire tour is self-funded and self-produced, so it’s a massive leap. But, as it has been from the start, it’s fueled by passion.
“I like to think of The 60 Four shows as stepping into a time machine. We take you straight back to the 1960s, but with a modern edge. It’s The Beatles. The Beach Boys. Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Elvis Presley. Johnny O’Keefe. The Monkees. The Kinks.
“We’re backed by a spectacular 9-piece band made up of local musicians. It’s a big, Las Vegas style show. You’ll be up and dancing in no time!”
