Adelaide here they come! With stories of their misfit adventures, these strange but endearing musical sisters from Esk, The Kransky Sisters, are stirring up a spicy, nutty mix of their hottest hits. Venturing from the secret-laden walls of the sisters’ secluded home in rural Queensland, this oddball trio is an experience not to be missed.
Mourne, Eve and Dawn Kransky are packing up their trusty red Morris and heading to The Regal Theatre for an incredible night of entertainment this Friday 10th October.
Mourne Kransky spoke to Glam Adelaide about the sisters’ music, the performance and recent events in their lives, including the last time they were in Adelaide, performing their Christmas show.
“Oh, it was wonderful. Yes, we had a wonderful time at the Christmas show. It was lovely. Lovely people and so nice to celebrate Christmas with some people for a change, because we celebrated Christmas in our backyard over our uncle’s grave for many years.”
The sisters are known for driving around in their red Morris, which recently had to have some work done on it.
“Yes, it’s not too bad. We broke down last year in Byron Bay and a lovely man there used one of his dreadlocks on our fan belt. It’s been going even better than it did before with the pantyhose.”
Their musical stylings are very unique. They hear songs on their wireless at home and reimagine them on musical saw, tuba, old keyboard, and kitchen pots. Get ready to hear well-known songs as you’ve never heard them before!
Mourne shared with us the process the sisters go through to arrange new music.
“Yes, well, you know, sometimes they play the song more than once, so we can pick up more of the tune. We listen to it, and learn bits of it. Then one of us might play the toilet brush or something along with it and go. ‘That’s a good tune, that’s a good instrument to use’. I might then play the pot or the rice shaker. We start to sort of think about ways we can play it and with what instruments we have. We tend to lean to the tuba and this musical saw and the guitar and all the kitchen things. We work out how to do it harmonically with the three of our voices and sometimes two or three, you see. Dawn doesn’t speak, you know, but she does sing.”
This Friday, 10th October, The Kransky Sisters will be performing at The Regal Theatre in a show that is not to be missed.
“Well, in Assorted Nuts, of course, we’re going to be telling our stories of the latest things that have happened to us, all sorts of things, as well as some adventures we’ve been on. We’re going to sing songs by Dee-Lite and Sia, new songs by ABBA, and we’ve got ACDC, and Simon and Garfunkel, Mi-Sex, Tina Turner, Johnny Cash, Pink Floyd, you know, and Goyta. So we’re doing a lot of different songs in our show. We started a little business, you know, recently. You know, we heard people were ordering delivery food, so we started a little delivery service ourselves.”
Join The Kransky Sisters for a hilarious night that you won’t easily forget.
