South Australia is filled with some pretty amazing accommodation options. We are absolutely spoilt for choice, and our discovery of the former Goolwa Mill cottage, which is now known as Mill Estate, has us starry eyed. It’s somewhere we’d send our interstate friends for a special getaway, spend a weekend with our girlfriends in between winery visits, or prepare for a wedding with your bridal party. There are two accommodation options to choose from. Mill Cottage and The Abode.
Mill Cottage
Mill Cottage is a c1853 three bedroom cottage, located just off the Main Street in the heart of Goolwa. Since its original construction, it has been a destination of prestige. Being the cottage next to the pre-existing Mill of Goolwa, it is full of character and has a rich history, with the cottage originally being home to prominent professionals and local businesses.
Mill Cottage has recently been restored to all of its former glory and it’s stolen our hearts. Featuring quality furnishings and finishes you can revel in, the simplicity of its original architecture shines through without missing out on modern luxuries. Mill Cottage balances the warmth and comfort of home with the premium indulgence of luxury living.

The newly built Abode shares the same prime location as Mill Cottage, however, offers a little more privacy, being discretely tucked behind. For those seeking a seaside getaway, The Abode offers warmth, style, and comfort to all who visit.
As you enter you’ll be greeted by light-filled spaces, chic furnishings and the ultimate blend of old and new pieces. Inspired by European interiors, fresh white walls and natural wood furniture, The Abode is the ultimate place to escape.
