Have you been looking to try a new spot for Middle Eastern food? Ishtar Middle Eastern Food is the newest eatery in Prospect, bringing years of experience and authentic cooking to the table.
Since early 2024, Ishtar has been crafting charcuterie and grazing boards for events and functions across the state, infused with delicious Middle Eastern flavours. Now Ishtar has a permanent home, where they’ll be continuing with catering, but also selling ready-to-eat meals in the new restaurant on Prospect Rd.
Ishtar offers a menu filled with unique, authentic Middle Eastern dishes you won’t find elsewhere. The menu features a wide range of gluten-free and vegetarian-friendly items. Aside from the dine-in option, there is also an option to purchase pre-prepared meals and soups that you can take home and eat. On the menu, there’s a great range of gluten-free and vegetarian-friendly items.
Gluten-free options include Lubia which is green beans cooked with tomatoes and onion served with rice, Mujadara which is brown lentils with rice cooked in olive oil and topped with caramelised onions, Tambura is black eye beans and spinach cooked in olive oil served with rice, a potato stew served with rice called Yakhnet, and traditional Moussaka with eggplant with tomato, chickpeas and onion served with rice. These dishes are also vegetarian-friendly!
Other options include soups, and meat and chicken-based options.
Each meal box is priced at $12, with a minimum order of 10 meals. This is the perfect way to make sure you’re getting good quality meals daily, without the pressure of having to cook each day. Plus, you get to try something different and give something new a go each day.
The catering and function menus include a variety of options such as sandwich and wrap boxes, assorted pastry boxes, salads, charcuterie tables, desserts, and more.
