  • Andrew Burge, CEO & Founder of iSUBSCRiBE Pty Ltd
  • Ita Buttrose, Youngest-ever Editor of the Australian Women’s Weekly & first female newspaper editor

Ita Buttrose said of the awards, “As one of the magazine industry’s most coveted award competitions The Maggies continue to grow in popularity and rightly so as they recognise the exciting talent behind Australia’s diverse magazine titles.”

The awards are open exclusively to Australian print magazines. The Maggies in Australia have grown exponentially over the past four years; with publisher entries increasing by 30% and consumer voting rising by 25%.

The judges will select a short list from the nominated covers, which will be put to public vote from 8th September via, and the winners will be announced mid October.

While there is no formal entry fee, publishers are encouraged to make a voluntary donation to The Maggies chosen charity, Alzheimer’s Australia. Alzheimer’s Australia is the peak body providing support and advocacy for the 332,000 Australians living with dementia.

The public will be incentivised to vote for their favourite magazine cover with a reward of a $5 iSUBSCRiBE gift voucher – a stark contrast to other public polls, in which participants pay to vote. The voucher may be redeemed against iSUBSCRiBE’s entire range of over 2,000 magazine and newspaper subscriptions. In addition, $1 from every subscription sold using the iSUBSCRiBE gift vouchers will be donated to Alzheimer’s Australia.

iSUBSCRiBE is the leading and most comprehensive online magazine and newspaper subscription superstore, currently operating in 3 countries – Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Representing over 1,000 publishing clients worldwide and listing subscriptions for nearly 5,000 different titles – iSUBSCRiBE has the largest range of any company in our field. A privately owned and proudly Australian company, its development of The Maggies shows the company’s commitment to improving the popularity of Australia’s great magazine publishing industry.
