The potential of floating cinemas have been doing the rounds on social media in recent days, and it seems an event has now popped up for an Adelaide iteration of the concept.

According to the event page, the floating cinema will be equipped with social distancing boats, and is set to arrive in Adelaide on November 4 for one week only.

The cinema will be made up of 12 to 24 mini boats, each able to hold up to eight people, and the movies screened are set to be a combination of “golden oldies” and new releases.

The event page also states that attendees will receive free popcorn, with other snacks and drinks available to purchase before setting sail on your social distancing boats.

We’re not quite sure if this floating cinema will actually become a reality but rest assured, when we know, you’ll know.

In the meantime, we can hope, because a floating cinema sounds pretty fantastic.
