Australia’s largest Floatarium, exclusive to Blue Lagoon Float and Spa Hyde Park, has now become even more of a destination, after today’s visit by Hollywood heartthrob Jamie Dornan. Dornan (A Private War, The Fall, Wild Mountain Thyme, Fifty Shades of Grey) is in South Australia filming the Stan Original Series The Tourist which started shooting in early 2021.
Floatation therapy involves lying in a harmoniously designed tank in which you are suspended in 500kg of magnesium sulphate (pharmaceutical-grade Epsom salts). The density of the water means it so buoyant that you float effortlessly and experience an incredible feeling of weightlessness.
Floatation tanks are incredibly popular around the world as their benefits extend to a vast range of mental and physical conditions and ailments, assisting anxiety conditions for many people.
The team at Blue Lagoon said that Dornan found out about their floatation spa through a friend in the UK. The star-struck staff said he was “super lovely and down to earth.”
While in Adelaide, Dornan has been making the most of his time in the area, visiting Star of Greece recently with his wife, musician Amelia Warner. They’ve also been spotted out with their three young daughters, visiting Uniqorn Eats, Morialta Conservation Park and attending a Wiggles concert at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
Filming for The Tourist is set to continue in the Flinders, in which Dornan is cast as the lead in the six-part thriller. The series charts one man’s search for his identity. HBO Max has also been confirmed as the US partner, after the series was first announced by Stan and BBC ONE last year.
Joining Dornan in the star-studded cast are Danielle Macdonald (Stan Original Film I Am Woman, Unbelievable), Shalom Brune-Franklin (Line of Duty, Roadkill) and Hugo Weaving (The Lord of The Rings, Patrick Melrose).
