Mile End’s latest culinary gem, Yuna, has been buzzing with anticipation for the past month, and now, its doors are finally open to welcome eager patrons.
The Henley Beach road cafe and restaurant boasts an inviting ambiance while paying homage to the refined elegance of Japanese culture.
“We wanted to create a space where people could come in a just enjoy the food and each other,” Owner Mia Zhang said.
“The space also represents Japanese culture with the cool tones, exposed timber and the concrete. We’re really happy with how it’s turned out.”
After patiently waiting for their gas connection, the YUNA team are ready to serve up their full menu of Japanese delectables ready for Adelaide to enjoy. Think along the lines of juicy, thick, crunchy chicken in between two pieces of deliciously crafted milk bread (or shokupan as it’s more traditionally known).
Two delicious variations of rice bowls are also available for you to feast on, from a yummy beef teriyaki to a Sansho (Japanese pepper) Chicken for a modest $16.90 to $17.90.
A popular item already flying out the door are the Onigiri (rice balls). Filled with either smoked tuna, kimchi egg or soy mushrooms, these seaweed wrapped goodies will easily be the best thing you’ve eaten in a long time.
The cafe also has a wide range of locally made pastries to pair with a cup of ONA coffee, who are one of the leading coffee roasters in the country. It can’t get much better than that right?
“Our lunch menu will have a variety of items on it and there will also be a sharing menu which will be perfect if you want a bit of everything.
“We will also be serving sake though-out the day and once we settle in we will also look to host dinners across the weekend which will be great.”
