Jet, one of the most celebrated rock bands to come out of Australia, has announced an exclusive run of dates this September to mark the 20th anniversary of their seminal debut album, Get Born.

Embarking on their first band shows in 5 years, Jet will play Get Born in full, re-visiting the incredible tracklist that won them fans right across the world – including such timeless tracks such as Are You Gonna Be My Girl, Look What You’ve Done, Rollover DJ and Get Me Outta Here. Songs that sound as invigorating today as they did 20 years ago.

The tour will commence on September 22 at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre, followed by Hindley Street Music Hall, Adelaide on September 23, Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on September 29 and concluding at Enmore Theatre Sydney on September 30.

“Get Born was a rare and unique moment of total planetary alignment where we somehow managed to capture lighting in a bottle,” reflecting on the album, Nic Cester said.

“I don’t remember much about the actual day Get Born was released. I think we were in Pittsburgh. I’m sure we celebrated, but to be honest we celebrated every night back in those days. 2003 was one big blurry haze for me,” Mark Wilson said.

Get Born scored six ARIA Awards and was certified 9 times platinum in Australia, making it one of the top 5 highest selling Australian rock albums of all time.

The unparalleled success of Get Born at home was only one part of the story, as Jet topped both the US Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts and toured with the likes of the Rolling Stones, Oasis and Kings Of Leon, with eventual total worldwide sales in excess of 5 million albums.

After calling it a day in 2012, the band briefly reformed in 2017 to play with Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band on their sold-out Australian tour of that year.

Following an overwhelming response to those shows, the band dipped their toe back in the live waters with a triumphant appearance at the legendary Fuji Rock festival in Japan and sold out shows at Sydney and Melbourne Zoos. The reaction from fans was enough to suggest that demand for the band was stronger than ever.
