Jim Keays Announces South Australian July Tour

One of Australia’s pioneers of rock, Jim Keays will be visiting SA for his first solo tour in years – celebrating his life in music and promoting his new classic 60’s garage covers album Dirty, Dirty. A legendary performer and music icon, Keays is fondly remembered as the lead singer of Australian’s revolutionary band Masters Apprentices.

Masters Apprentices were an Australian musical export that knew no bounds. Led by Keays, they formed in 1965, forging a career that included sell out tours, albums recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studios, and most recently being inducted in the ARIA Hall of Fame in 1998.

Keays’ new solo album is a testament to his career spanning 5 decades. Described as “raw, authentic and as abrasively perfect as rock and roll should be”, Dirty, Dirty carries undertones of 60s garage-punk and psychedelic foot stomping – showing the new generation just how rock was supposed to be made.

Joining Jim on tour are leading session group The Rob Pippan Band, featuring Rob Pippan (lead guitar), Matt McNamee (drums), Shaun Duncan (bass), Nanette Van Ruitan (backing vocals) and Dave Ross (rhythm guitar, keyboard and backing vocals).
