Jimmy Barnes has announced his return to the stage with his upcoming national tour, DEFIANT, set for June 2025. This much-anticipated tour, presented by Frontier Touring and MG Live, will encompass six dates across major cities in Australia.
The tour will celebrate the release of Barnes’s 21st studio album, titled DEFIANT, which is to be released on June 6, 2025, by Mushroom Music. This album includes the double-single release of ‘New Day’ and ‘Beyond The River Bend’.
Barnes’s tour will kick off at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre Theatre on June 7. It will move through Perth’s Riverside Theatre PCEC on June 8, Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on June 14, Brisbane’s The Fortitude Music Hall on June 21, and Sydney’s State Theatre on June 27, wrapping up at the Canberra Theatre on June 28.

Having notched up an unprecedented 21 #1’s on the Australian album charts (15 as a solo artist and 6 with Cold Chisel), the DEFIANT TOUR follows Cold Chisel’s triumphant The Big Five-O anniversary 2024 tour, and sees Jimmy hitting the road with his 9-piece band as he brings his DEFIANT album to life.
‘New Day’ is set for release tomorrow, accompanied by a music video featuring Troy Cassar-Daley and Laurel Edwards. The song reflects a sense of renewal and hope, themes that are evidently central to the album.
