John Farnham stable and ‘responding well’ following 11 hour surgery

This morning, a joint statement by Jill, Rob and James Farnham was released an update on John Farnham’s health following surgery on August 23rd.

In the statement, the family thanked everyone for their support, and also provided a brief update on 73 year old John’s health.

Following the successful removal of a cancerous tumour in John’s mouth, he remains in a stable condition in ICU, and is awake and responding well.

The statement says “The Farnham family want to acknowledge and thank everyone for their ongoing messages and well wishes that have been shared throughout the last week. It really lifts our spirits knowing that everyone is thinking of John.”

It goes on to say, “Jill Farnham has provided this brief update this morning, “John remains in a stable condition in ICU following the removal of a cancerous tumour in his mouth on Tuesday. He is awake and responding well to the care he’s receiving.“

The most recent update, follows one which was shared on August 24th, which stated “John has been through an eleven and a half hour surgery in Melbourne yesterday and is now in a stable condition in ICU. The cancerous tumour was located in his mouth and it has been successfully removed. There is still a long road of recovery and healing ahead of us, but we know John is up for that task,” said Jill Farnham.

“We are in awe of the incredible teams of healthcare professionals who have guided us through this very challenging time with such compassion. All of you undertook this big job and have given us a magnificent outcome. To all the surgeons, doctors, nurses and consultants – thank you one and all so very much,” added Rob and James Farnham.

John will remain in hospital for a period of time for recovery and post operative treatment.
