John Farnham’s family release update after surgery

After an eleven and a half hour surgery in Melbourne yesterday, John Farnham is now in a stable condition in ICU. His family has released an update on his health.

This morning, a joint statement by Jill, Rob and James Farnham was released a update on John Farnham’s health following surgery.

The family began by saying they feel “genuinely overwhelmed by the incredible wave of support, love and messages” they have received in recent days from so many people around Australia. Jill, Rob and James continued to share that this love “means so much” to them as a family, saying thank you to everyone and “John will be blown away”.

“John has been through an eleven and a half hour surgery in Melbourne yesterday and is now in a stable condition in ICU. The cancerous tumour was located in his mouth and it has been successfully removed. There is still a long road of recovery and healing ahead of us, but we know John is up for that task,” said Jill Farnham.

“We are in awe of the incredible teams of healthcare professionals who have guided us through this very challenging time with such compassion. All of you undertook this big job and have given us a magnificent outcome. To all the surgeons, doctors, nurses and consultants – thank you one and all so very much,” added Rob and James Farnham.

John will remain in hospital for a period of time for recovery and post operative treatment.

It was first discovered that the 73 year old would need surgery yesterday, following the discovery of the cancerous growth. No further comment has been made available at this time.
