Mark your calendars for a night of community, entertainment, and support at the MS Society SA & NT’s Paint it Red Gala on Saturday, 5 October 2024. This glamorous fundraising event is set to take place at the newly upgraded Morphettville Racecourse, marking 60 years of dedicated service by the MS Society to the community affected by multiple sclerosis (MS).

The Paint it Red Gala shines as a crucial fundraising event with an ambitious goal to gather over $400,000 in the next 12 months to fund essential MS nurse services, currently unsupported by government or other direct funding streams.

MS Society SA & NT CEO Jannine Jackson shared, “Studies have shown that having access to an MS nurse significantly improves the health of people living with MS.” She detailed the various ways MS nurses assist patients including reducing levels of disability, decelerating disease progression, alleviating symptoms, and reducing depression and anxiety levels. “Our MS nurses are truly an invaluable resource, improving the health outcomes and quality of life for people living with MS,” she continued.

The gala promises an unforgettable night with performances by the renowned Billy Joel Tribute Concert, led by Anthony Mara, who is also battling MS. Adding to the evening’s spectacle, acclaimed speed painter Brad Blaze will captivate attendees with his artistic prowess. Hosting the event is Adelaide’s own Shanelle Franklin, known for her vibrant presence at the annual MS Mighty Swim fundraiser.

As part of the evening’s festivities, guests can enjoy an MS Society signature gin cocktail courtesy of Prohibition Gin and participate in a silent auction and raffle with exceptional prizes. Ticket prices for the event are set at $165 per person, with a VIP option available for $195, offering premium seating and additional perks.

With MS affecting over 33,000 Australians, and more than 3,000 in South Australia and the Northern Territory alone, the gala’s impact is imperative. “Your support of this evening will not only treat you to a fantastic night out, it will also support the life-changing work of the MS Society,” Jackson stated.

The MS Society SA & NT, part of MS Australia, plays a vital role in supporting MS research and offering care, information, education, and connection to those affected by MS in South Australia and the Northern Territory. The organisation holds a significant place in the community, providing unmatched support and advocacy for people living with this unpredictable neurological condition.
