It’s Winter in Adelaide, and let’s face it, we’re cold. Although we don’t have snowstorms or sub-zero temperatures, we’re still looking for ways to warm up, so a short film featuring the handsome Jude Law is a good start. Johnnie Walker Blue Label, the leading luxury blended Scotch Whisky (as per IWSR 2013), are launching the short film ‘The Gentleman’s Wager’ starring Law, so we can expect some some debonair drinking scenes in the story of a wager between two men striving for personal progress through the quest for a truly rare experience.
Directed by Jake Scott and also starring Italian actor Giancarlo Giannini, the film is scheduled for global release on 30th July 2014. ‘The Gentleman’s Wager’ was shot in the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean and London respectively and sees Law in the role of a man who, despite having it all, uses a wager as an excuse to challenge himself and strive for something he wants, but can’t buy.
Commenting on his involvement, Law says: “The film is about improvement and progress and this is something I try to do in my work and life. I had to learn new skills through the shooting of this film, that combined with the places we visited and shot in, alongside working with Jake and Giancarlo too, made it a truly rare experience.”
