Judit V. Molnár – Hungarian Diva in Adelaide

A Romantic Evening of Opera

A special concert by renowned Hungarian soprano Judit V. Molnár is planned at the Hungarian Club on Saturday 14th April 2012 (Saturday after Easter) at 5.30pm – presented by the Hungarian Club of SA Incorporated.

Born in Hungary, Ms Molnár currently resides in Brisbane and is coming south to appear in Lehár’s The Merry Widow at the Opera Australia’s Melbourne season in May.

Educated at the Béla Bartók Institute of Music, University of Miskolc and the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Judit has already notched up many important milestones in her native country, Austria and Australia and has won several prizes for her singing.

In 2011 she was invited to sing in the Prom Concert ‘Hungarian Rhapsody’ in Canberra with the CSO, conducted by Richard Mills AM in the presence of her own ambassador, Gábor Csaba, and Her Excellency Quentin Bryce, Governor General of Australia.

Ms Molnár will sing some of the most popular arias from the Italian and Hungarian operatic repertoire by composers such as Verdi, Puccini, Mascagni, Kálmán, Erkel, Lehár and Kodály.

Well-known Adelaide pianist, Alexander Hanysz, will accompany Judit as well as play piano solos by Schubert-Liszt, Chopin and others.

This event promises to be a highly stimulating and entertaining concert with the exceptional musical talent of these two very fine artists on display.
