1950s Italo-American Diner Hits Adelaide’s West

Inspired by the golden era of Palm Springs, Chicco Palms is your new go-to for authentic Italian.

You know pizza is serious business when this new restaurant had to be built AROUND the wood oven itself! Shipped all the way from Naples, Italy, we can only predict that Chicco Palms will be serving up possibly some of the best pizza in town.

We’ve been eagerly waiting for this 1950s inspired Italo-American diner to open its doors and the day has finally arrived! Chicco Palms is open for business today folks and there’s really no shame in running there. It’s bloody cute and you’ll be able to find some good old school Italian classics like meatballs, pasta and of course, pizza.

In what seems to be just the start of cool eateries popping up in the western suburbs, Chicco Palms is keen to make the joint a hub for locals to come down, hang out for the day with great food, company and a nice cold bevvie.

Just to give you a teaser of the menu, you can order Chicken Cotoletta (an Italian-style schnitzel), Carpaccio Beef, Quattro Formaggi Pizza with Provolone Asagio and Pizza Quattro Stagioni (a four-section pizza, with four different toppings).

The concept was developed by a line up of uber-accomplished Adelaide hospitality gurus including the guys behind Pizza e Mozzarella and Chicken & Pig. This latest venture is based around the groups love of the “golden era” of Palm Springs mixed with the Italian migration to the US.

The fit out is by none other than design Gods, MASH. You might recognise their work for Motel Mexicola and Africola. At Chicco Palms, it’s all about the bright and colourful mid-century architecture.

Chicco Palms is open 6 days a week but you’ll want to get in quick. Word spreads fast in the west and they’re booking out quick smart.

Tuesday to Saturday: 11:30am-9pm. Sundays: Lunch only.

437 Henley Beach Rd, Brooklyn Park.
