With school holidays quickly approaching, thinking of things to keep the kids entertained can be a tricky task. With plenty of energy to burn, get the kids outside this summer at the new Karingal Reserve Playground.
After receiving $500,000 of federal government funding to upgrade the reserve, the new playground is ready to go. With a flying fox, rope climbing tower, ninja equipment, and opportunities for nature play, there is plenty to keep the kids happy for hours. Plus, with a fitness station, picnic shelter, BBQ, table and bench seats, solar-lit paths, drinking fountain, and lush irrigated turf with tree planting, there’s something for the whole family.
The playground has natural wooden features that contrast against the bright blue frames. In addition to the unique features, you can expect playground classics like slides, swings, monkey bars and more.
Karingal Reserve is located at the corner of Cliff Avenue and Jane Street, Port Noarlunga South and the upgraded playground is set to be an exciting addition to this already popular reserve. Karingal Reserve currently provides opportunities for skating with a small concrete half pipe and street section with quarter pipes, wedge ramp, rail and manual pad, and tennis courts. It is also home to Seaford Storm Netball Club, Seaford Soccer Club, Seaford Rotary Club and Seaford Lions Club, making the reserve a true community affair.
In the Onkaparinga area, there are heaps of playgrounds and facilities set to be enhanced in 2025. Across eight locations improvements to facilities seating, shelters, irrigated turf, landscaping, and of course the playgrounds are all set to be undertaken. These eight locations include Old Noarlunga Tennis and Netball Club, Balee Road Reserve, Happy Valley, Esplanade/Wembley Street, Port Noarlunga South, Lance Hawke Park, Morphett Vale, Callender Avenue Reserve, Old Reynella, Port Noarlunga Oval Playground, Richards Drive Reserve, Morphett Vale, and Kings Court Reserve, Hackham.
In addition, planning, design and community engagement will be undertaken for several other local playgrounds.
