Karrawatta is all set to unite fine dining enthusiasts under the South Australian sky for an exquisite culinary event featuring chefs Mark Best and Justin James. This luxurious affair is scheduled for a Sunday lunch on June 16th at the scenic Karrawatta vineyards.
The event, titled “A Karrawatta Food Odyssey,” promises an extraordinary experience beginning with sparkling wines and an assortment of roaming snacks upon arrival. Attendees will have the rare opportunity to observe the art of open-flame cooking, as chefs Best and James display their culinary prowess. Following this, guests will be treated to a meticulously crafted three-course meal, each dish paired with Karrawatta’s critically acclaimed estate wines, including some exclusive selections available only to members.
Set against the picturesque vista of the vineyards, the meal concludes in leisure, with guests invited to relax on the patio. They will enjoy music, a Winter warming bonfire and a special serving of Karrawatta’s renowned Tutelina wine to cap off the day.
The cost for this bucket list lunch is $350 per person, which includes the welcoming Popsie sparkling and canapés, a four-course meal crafted by the distinguished duo, matching wines, and dessert, including transport from and back to Adelaide CBD.
For a more intimate dining experience, the Winemakers Table tickets are available at $700. This premium option offers a private five-course meal in the company of Karrawatta’s Mark Gilbert and comes with a selection of the estate’s ultra-premium wines.
Guest chef Mark Best is acclaimed in the culinary world, having earned his stripes soon after being awarded Sydney’s best young chef in 1995. His Sydney-based restaurant Marque was a staple on the global culinary map for years, consistently earning accolades. Conversely, Chef Justin James, head of Restaurant Botanic, has shaped his kitchen into one of the country’s top dining destinations, renowned for its innovative use of local produce and flora.
This event not only offers a chance to enjoy some of the best foods and wines South Australia has to offer but also to witness the synergy of two of Australia’s culinary titans working side by side.
