With memories of the Royal Croquet Club fading away, much like our Summer tans, the Alpine Winter Village has been our saviour, reminding us that we CAN go out and enjoy Adelaide outside of Mad March. While our days of mulled wine, ice skating and niche local markets are numbered (it officially wraps up at the end of July), don’t put your party shoes away just yet.
Today the program for this year’s OzAsia Festival was announced, and included in the epic line up, was the joy-inspiring news that the creative minds behind the Royal Croquet Club and Alpine Winter Village will be creating something new and fabulous for the Festival. Let us introduce the Good Fortune Market.
From September 21st to October 2nd, the Festival environment and atmosphere of OzAsia will spill out of Adelaide Festival Centre as the Good Fortune Market forms a massive festival hub in Elder Park filled with delicious food, stunning design and loads of free music and performances every night. The Good Fortune Market promises to transport us all the way to the vibrant streets of Asia.
The hub will present a tantalising array of authentic Asian cuisine from delicious dumplings and pork buns to fiery curries, all served straight from the wok. If that isn’t enough, wander market stalls, take in free all ages entertainment or simply settle into a stylish pop-up bar.
We can feel the Springtime goodness already. Gorgeous sunsets, warmer nights, great music, incredible food, more crafty local goodness at the market stalls, after work drinks, the list goes on.
The expanded OzAsia program, including a new outdoor concert series and the Good Fortune Market, has been made possible with additional annual funding of $750,000 from the State Government and a one-off $400,000 from the Federal Government Catalyst grant program.
Good Fortune Market will be open weekdays from 5pm until late & weekends from noon until late.
