Keils Fine Food & Coffee serving up traditional Balinese eats in Tanunda

Keils Fine Food & Coffee is brining delicious coffee and amazing traditional Balinese food to the heart of the Barossa Valley.

Keils Fine Food & Coffee is more than just your average coffee shop, bringing together Australian coffee culture and tasty Balineese treats in a winning combination.

Located in the hustle and bustle of Tanunda in the heart of the Barossa, this cafe and eatery offers a bright and airy atmosphere, as well as the heartfelt touch of a family-run business.

The woman behind the business is Veena Greenshields, who originally opened Keils with her sister back in 2007.

Loved by locals, this is an excellent spot to grab a cup of coffee and a bite to eat.

On the menu is a variety of coffee shop staples, but what sets Keils apart from the rest is the unique addition of traditional Balinese food that keeps people coming back for more.

“I’m very lucky to have a Balinese mum who loves to cook, so we have a lot of authentic Balinese food on our lunch menu,” shares Greenshields.

“We are quite well known for our pork dumplings and Asian chicken salad. I feel having that point of difference helps make us unique and unlike any other cafe in the Barossa.”

“We also offer breakfast with all the usual favourites like Eggs Benedict and smashed avo, but again, we have added our own little twists. We also make nearly all of our cakes and slices in house and my sister still makes all of our biscuits for us,” continues Greenshields.

After the great response Greenshields received from the homemade Balinese food, they started a fortnightly Asian takeaway special on Friday nights, which gives Greenshields’ mother a chance to showcase her superb cooking skills.

“Each night we offer a different menu, we are providing the Barossa with a diverse range of Balinese recipes that they may have never tried before,” she says.

“The feedback from the community has been amazing, it is so great to see how well they respond to our food!”

You can find Keils Fine Food & Coffee on 2/63-67 Murray Street, Tanunda 5352.
