Looking for the perfect Sunday sesh? Well we think we may have found it… The Lion Hotel are launching their inaugural ‘Kick. Start. Sundays.’ this Sunday, 6 December.
On the first Sunday of each month, the popular venue will collaborate with a local Adelaide artist, designer, craftsman or entrepreneur to help kick start their career.
General Manager of The Lion Hotel, Jacob Wright, says, “We’re always hearing reports of Adelaide’s talented young professionals and entrepreneurs being lured interstate and overseas due to the lack of local support. So we’ve decided to lend our support and give them a helping hand.
“This is our chance to give back to our patrons, locals and the broader community, and share the goodwill with the next generation of Adelaide’s shining stars,” says Jacob Wright.
James Hopgood (aka Kameo) from Fresh Produce Creative is this Sunday’s debut artist, who is a talented graphic designer and aerosol artist with a number of years of experience on his belt. Years of painting graffiti style led to an interest in all things design, prompting him to pursue a career in graphic design.
Inspired by his travels and the people he meets along the way, James is intrigued by typography, contrast and vector illustration, which is reflected in his work. Career highlights include clients such as Ministry of Sound Australia and the UK, and painting in some amazing locations around the world. He’s taken the plunge and gone freelance with his bold, sharp and fresh style, hoping to hold his first solo exhibition of his works on canvas in 2016.
“With the theme of ‘Tropical Oasis,’ James will be creating a live art installation – a huge mural on the Melbourne Street side of the venue, which will be in place for the whole month of December.
“So bring your friends and family along to see Kameo in action and help support him on his way to greater success,” says Jacob Wright.
Live entertainment on the day will include Yogi Bear Acoustic, Golden Child, DJs Josh Pathon and Faint One. Drink specials include Sailor Jerry Coconuts, Havana Club Mojitos and Coronas.
The Lion Hotel is located in the trendy suburb of North Adelaide, offering bar, restaurant, casual dining and private events services.
