Kmart Opens First Ever Multi Level and CBD Store in Adelaide’s Rundle Mall

Adelaide residents will now have a new shopping destination in the CBD with Kmart opening its doors in a prime position in Rundle Mall last week.

It will be the first time the national retailer has ever had either a multi-level or CBD store in Australia.  The store is located in the Renaissance Centre (where Toys R Us used to be) and will offer their famous low prices across a great range of apparel and homewares for women, men and children.  With direct Mall frontage, the landmark Kmart store will provide a convenient and easy shopping experience for Adelaide shoppers, and just in time for Christmas. 

Kmart managing director, Guy Russo said Kmart is an advocate for Aussie families, and that includes being open in more convenient locations for customers.

“With Christmas approaching we know it’s a joyous time, however it can put a strain on families if there are budgetary problems given the economic climate. We’re proud and excited to bring our lowest prices to Adelaide’s CBD to help families not only during Christmas time, but all year round,” said Guy.

“At Kmart we want to stand side by side with Australian families, being open when they want to shop,  providing a more enjoyable shopping experience and most importantly offering amazing low prices on things that mum, dad and the kids use every day,” he added.

Kmart store manager Julie Sharp said: “I’ve been working at Kmart since 1989 and am really proud to be opening a new store in the CBD that is unique to Kmart’s offering, with a wide range that is bright and colourful for summer. The Kmart Rundle Mall team and I can’t wait to get to know our customers, and we look forward to welcoming them on opening day.”

A range of store design features will make the shopping experience more enjoyable for customers, with vibrant store graphics, a new lighting system, modern fixtures, , fitting rooms and checkouts, plus  self-serve checkouts for added convenience. Combined photo processing, entertainment and layby counters will provide a simple way for customers to access these great services.

Kmart’s new look and direction is about responding to customers and providing them with product and a store experience that is accessible, easy and has the best price.
