2019 nominations are up now for the program that will discover and celebrate individuals and their affiliated organisations.

The Westfield Local Heroes program has returned to shed light on everyday South Australian heroes.

2019 nominations are up now for the program that will discover and celebrate individuals and their affiliated organisations whose whose work promotes social wellbeing and harmony within the community.

In its second year, Westfield Local Heroes will again award three $10,000 grants to support South Australian community leaders and their organisations to continue their important work into the future.

The program is open to people in all sectors including business, sport, government, education, sports, welfare, community and not-for-profit. All nominations are assessed to create a shortlist of six finalists for each Westfield centre.

The community will then be invited to vote for the individuals who they believe to be Westfield Local Heroes. Following the community vote, three of the finalists from each centre will be named Westfield Local Heroes and each awarded a $10,000 grant for their affiliated organisation to continue their important work.

Nominations for Westfield Local Heroes are now open and close on Monday 8  April at 4pm AEST.

In total, Westfield will award 120 grants across Australia and New Zealand totalling $1.2M.

Dates to remember

30 July: The community’s six finalists will be announced in-centre at Westfield centres across the state and online.
30 July and 12 August: The community vote will be held between to determine our Westfield Local Heroes for 2019.
1 October: The successful heroes announced
