You know Easter is almost here when Kytons Bakery launches the 2023 hot cross bun season with its annual “Charity Hot Cross Bun Run”.
Yesterday the special event saw the Kytons team travelling across Adelaide and the Riverland delivering freshly baked, award-winning hot cross buns to community organisations.
They went to fabulous establishments like The Hutt Street Centre, Catherine House, Murray Bridge Flood Relief Centre, Anglicare SA’s Mary Magdalene Centre and Fred’s Van (Vinnies).
From there each organisation will distribute the buns to its clients to enjoy as part of their many programs.
“We know that many people are finding life tough out there at the moment,” says owner of Kytons Bakery Sharon Sutton.
“So, we thought we would spread some “bun-der-ful” love as we launch into our busiest season of the year”.

This year was extra special as Kytons Bakery is celebrating being part of the South Australian Community for 85 years.
“An important part of the Kytons business is the Community Fundraising drives which we have been assisting community, sporting and school groups to run since the mid-1980s, but we also think it’s important to give back to the South Australian community directly. South Australians have supported Kytons over so many decades,” Sutton says.
The support is obvious in the way the public has previously backed the brand and its fundraising efforts.
During the early weeks of the pandemic, people went out of their way to help Kytons continue business during what should have been its busiest time of year. They came from all around South Australia to buy product and hand deliver fundraising orders to individual homes so their sporting and school fundraising drives could still go ahead.
Kytons Bakery’s buns have been awarded the best in Australia and are an iconic Easter staple for many South Australian’s during the holiday period.
They’re made with love using Australian Dried Fruit, Laucke Flour and the companies time honoured recipes.
