La Boca’s new premium meat menu takes Argentinian Asado to the next level

The premium menu will evolve the dining experience into something more shared – reflective of traditions commonplace in Argentina.

One thing Australians and Argentine people have in common is an appreciation for a good family barbeque. But while Aussies are partial to a few sausage sizzles and a chicken skewer or two, an Argentinian Asado is a love letter to premium meat cuts and the diners themselves.

To add a level of authenticity to their dining experience, the team at La Boca Bar and Grill has launched a premium meat menu, designed to be the ultimate sharing experience for guests who love meat.

The menu, which will run alongside La Boca’s much beloved A La carte menu, will evolve the dining experience into something more shared – reflective of traditions commonplace in Argentina. This offering will ideally attract larger groups of people to come together and bond over the same meal.

If you’ve never experienced an Argentinian Asado before, here is what you should expect. In its purest form, Asado (which means “to grill”) is meat cooked over red-hot coals and firewood, seasoned only with coarse BBQ salt to safeguard flavour.

Huge cuts of beef will sizzle away on a parilla grill for hours, often alongside chorizo, chicken breasts, sweetbreads, grilled vegetables, and homemade condiments, such as chimichurri and salsa criolla. Asado remains to be one of the most widespread and well-known Argentine traditions in the world.

La Boca’s new premium meat menu features six new dishes, majority of which showcase Grade 7 level Wagyu. The Wagyu grading system measures the meat’s intramuscular fat, also known as “marbling”. The most seasoned meat eaters know that if a slab of meat is interwoven with creamy white fat, the more tender, juicy, and rich the meat is.

From dishes such as a 42-day aged “Chuleton” steak and a 2kg Wagyu Tomahawk, the La Boca premium meat menu seeks to provide a rich and delicious steak-eating experience.

To take the meal to the next level, Argentine winemaker Martin Moran and Australian father-in-law David Dreckow from Mordrelle Wines have also handcrafted a unique single barrel Malbec exclusively for La Boca Bar and Grill.

The medium to full-body style Malbec has been made to perfectly match with Argentinian barbeques cooked in the fire, especially beef, lamb, or pork. Aged for 15 months, the Malbec will go for $14 per standard glass.

The Malbec promotion will finish once the barrel does, so take the opportunity to sip on a local Mordrelle Wine from an Argentinian winemaker, as you dine the Argentinian way.
