A lineup of exciting newcomers and young local musicians is taking the stage in November as The Local returns to the Glenelg Foreshore with easygoing live tunes and a dance-ready crowd, all set against one of Adelaide’s most iconic coastal backdrops.
The festival will take place at Jimmy Melrose Park, Glenelg Foreshore on Saturday 8 November. The free, all-ages event will kick off at 4pm with bands carrying you into the evening as the sun sets and a delightful glow takes over the park.

Bring your picnic rugs and deck chairs, grab a spot on the grass, and settle in for a relaxed afternoon of music, views and everything Glenelg has to offer. The stage is just a short walk from Jetty Road where you can head for food and drinks, and to soak up the main street atmosphere as well as the festival frontage.
Four fantastic Adelaide bands are taking to a single stage with sets that’ll take you through the genres, from laidback rock, to energetic and psychedelic. The festival kicks off at 4pm with February Clouds, a trio of mates playing fast, garage-style pop punk. At 5pm, Birds Are Spies bring their psych-rock sound, melding Aussie rock grit with modern jazz grooves. The four-piece have played WOMADelaide and supported international acts in their time. Molly Rocket hits the stage at 6pm with chaotic indie rock full of singalong anthems and raw ’90s energy. Closing the evening from 7pm is Badland Caravan, a five-piece psychedelic blues band known for hypnotic live performances that’ll make for a mesmerising finale.

With music rolling through the afternoon, you’re free to wander in and out, relax on the lawn, and enjoy the sea breeze. Stay for a set or for the whole afternoon and take in SA talent, local eats, and the best views in town.
