Langhorne Creek family-owned and operated winery, Lake Breeze, has put the final touches on its new $1.8m wedding and events venue, just in time for the 2020/2021 wedding season.
The new wedding and events space will allow the winery to accommodate more than 25 weddings each year.
The award-winning winery also annually caters to more than 6000 guests each year for the popular music and wine event, Handpicked Festival, which, due to COVID restrictions and artist limitations, was recently postponed until 2021.
Lake Breeze’s Managing Director, Roger Follett said the project would create approximately 10 new jobs to assist in servicing the new venue and would increase opportunities for the region.
“We’ve had our challenges earlier in the year, however the past few months have brought significant increases in tourists to the region and Lake Breeze and we hope to continue on that same trajectory, especially as people realise our close proximity to the Adelaide CBD,” says Roger.
“The secluded and tranquil property that Lake Breeze is located on lends itself perfectly to events and weddings. While we had previously only been able to welcome a handful of weddings each year, we are very excited at the opportunity to more than double capacity while being able to offer weddings without weather and vintage restrictions.”
“We’re extremely proud to have 13 weddings already booked at Lake Breeze next year, with more spots available. Due to all the shuffling of dates that some couples have had to endure as a result of COVID, we are pleased to present this beautiful venue as a great option for their special day.”
Stirling based builder Fairweather Davies was engaged by Lake Breeze to construct the new event space and undertook the process of sourcing limestone within the region. The architect and trades are also local.
Lake Breeze received $300,000 through the Regional Development Grant to assist with the project.
Lake Breeze Wines is located at 319 Step Rd, Langhorne Creek.
