Lambert Estate adds pizza oven, guided tours and more to its cellar door offering

A new certified Neapolitan pizza oven, fleet of golf buggies, VIP restaurant and tasting room, function room makeover and more, are planned for the winery.

The Lambert Estate winery in the beautiful Barossa Valley has long been a go to for visitors to the region and soon there will be even more reason to go with the Lambert family having a lot of plans for the future.

Lambert Estate is a family affair with Jim, Kirk, and Vanesa Lambert running the day-to-day of the winery.

Like all wineries in South Australia, Lambert was closed for a part of 2020, and it gave the family plenty of time to think about what they wanted the winery to be, said Jim.

“As we were sitting here last year with cover we got talking about what we could do to create new experiences with people after a number of discussions we came up with some new and unique experiences.”

Jim is excited with all the plans for the upgrade but particular excited with a new addition to the food offerings.

“I love Italian pizzas, and we’ve found a certified Neapolitan pizza oven and it arrived last week! It can cook nine pizzas at a time, in one minute, and the best part is, it’s powered by the sun.”

Lambert Estate sits on a very large piece of land and the owners wanted a way to showcase that, so they have ordered a fleet of electric 6 seater golf carts from the US.

They are going to use them to offer tours, both self guided and guided.

For the self guided tours, visitors will be given a map on the property and there will be signs to follow so they will be able to enjoy the beautiful grounds as they please.

For the guided tours they will be able to take up to 48 people at a time on their fleet of electric cars.

Electric cars and pizza aren’t the only new additions, with the restaurant and tasting room getting an upgrade as well.

“We are building a VIP restaurant and tasting room. It’s going to have its own private dining room and private balcony, which will have the best views of any balconies on the property and we have a lot of balconies!” said Jim.

The final addition of this makeover will be some additions to their already 400 seat function room, which they believe is the biggest in the Barossa.

More space will be added for different stages as the venue is getting busier and busier, and this will allow for quicker turn around between events.

Vanesa said all of these upgrades accentuates what is already there at Lambert Estate.

“All of these additions are to enhance the experiences that we already have here and to create a broader range of experiences and for people to experience things outside in our property.”

There’s no finish date for all these plans just yet, but Jim said definitely before the end of the year but he’s hoping for around October.
