Simon Tolley Wines in the Adelaide Hills is hosting an exciting event this March, promising a blend of the finest of South Aussie wines, delicious food, picturesque scenery and classic tunes that are bound to have you singing ‘Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies’, all afternoon!
On Saturday March 23rd and Sunday 24th, the winery’s cellar door will transform into a nostalgic haven, with the acclaimed local band Bella Donna bringing their musical tribute to the timeless and iconic band Fleetwood Mac and its lead singer Stevie Nicks.
With doors opening at 12 noon on both days, this intimate and exclusive family-friendly event will take place amidst the lush landscapes of the rolling hills, native gum trees and sprawling vineyards of Simon Tolley.
Guests are welcome to kick back and sip on the winery’s exquisite wines and enjoy mouth-watering food as they unwind throughout the afternoon with the perfect chilled-out soundtrack of hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
Simon Tolley’s Cellar Door Manager, Malou, is looking forward to having Bella Donna as a part of this special event.
‘We’re incredibly excited to invite Bella Donna over to our Woodside cellar door’, says Malou. ‘It’s the first music event of this size that we’re organising, and we really can’t wait—we’ve had the opportunity to see them live before, and it’s guaranteed to be a good time!’
Featuring a talented ensemble of local Adelaide musicians, Bella Donna is set to deliver a high-energy performance that transports the audience back in time, with a set list featuring classics like ‘Rhiannon’, ‘Landslide’, and ‘Edge of Seventeen’, followed by a DJ to keep the feel-good vibes goin’ throughout the day.
‘Stevie Nicks is a musical icon, and we’re thrilled to pay tribute to her and the legendary Fleetwood Mac with our energetic performance’, says Juliet Oliver, who plays Stevie on lead vocals.
‘We’ve carefully crafted a show that captures the essence of Stevie and the band’s masterpieces, taking our audience on a nostalgic ride through some of the greatest songs across the decades.’
To complement the musical feast, the event welcomes Smokin’ It Up food truck, who will be serving up the goods and specialises in authentic low & slow BBQ.
On the menu will be their signature pulled pork burgers smothered in Carolina Gold BBQ Sauce in a soft brioche bun, the crunch of their Coonawarra Grass Fed Brisket Smash Patty burgers along with a delicious vegetarian option.
The cellar door will also be organising both vegan and gluten-free selections, ensuring there is something for all dietary needs and preferences available on the day, and with the standard cellar door wines and drink list available, there’ll be a drop that satisfies every palate.
Malou and the team at Simon Tolley are looking forward to welcoming both newcomers and regulars to the vineyard and showcasing what Simon Tolley is all about.
‘We’re a family-owned, family-oriented, and intimate cellar door, and we’re passionate about welcoming everyone to experience what we have to offer—even the four-legged family members! We feel that this fantastic live event will probably be one of many to come in the future, so make sure you grab your tickets as they’re already selling fast.’
