A new eatery has opened up in Adelaide, serving up a twist to your favourite late-night grub.

Tiger Skewers is serving up, you guessed it, skewers in a variety of flavours and spices, and they are completely customisable

“We always travel to Sydney and Melbourne to get skewers just like these, and though Adelaide really needs it. We’re bringing this to Adelaide in the hopes of creating a vibrant late-night, cheap eats venue,” shared owner Ann.

Tiger Skewers offers a unique concept where diners can choose their own combination of skewers, which are then fried to perfection and ready to enjoy. Think of it almost like hotpot, where you go in and pick your own ingredients and then its seasoned and cooked to suit your preferences.

Skewers are priced from just $1 each or $7.50 for a bunch, with a minimum spend of $15. Options include crispy chicken, beef, lamb, fish balls, tofu puffs, rice cakes, vegetables, potatoes, and more, ensuring something to suit every palate.

To further customise your skewers, there are four spice levels: no spice, mi goreng, sriracha, and the spiciest buldak.

“The crispy chicken and the rice cake have been so popular. At the moment we have about 30 selections across our display fridge, but we’re looking to add more options.”

Inside the shop, you’ll be met by bright orange walls, a transparent yellow counter, and a very moody red tiger painted on the wall, which happens to match one outside. There’s not a ton of space to dine inside, but fortunately, due to the easy grab-and-go nature of the skewers, these are easy to eat whilst exploring nearby Chinatown. Plus, the skewers are served in a bag ensuring as little mess as possible.

“Our branding is inspired by our cat, he’s very grumpy, very moody, and always wants food.”

This unique dining option will be perfect for a quick lunch, late-night snack, or even dinner, and with all the fantastic restaurants, dessert shops, and food producers nearby, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a quick bite to eat and still have room to try something else.

Tiger Skewers is located on one of Adelaide’s most bustling streets, Gouger Street, which is home to a fusion of flavours and cultures. With a multitude of international restaurants and cafés and even the Adelaide Central Market and Chinatown on its doorstep, Gouger Street is a food lover’s dream.

Tiger Skewers will be regularly updating their opening hours so it’s best to double-check before heading down, but at the moment they’re open most days from 12pm until 11pm.
