While Adelaide is pumping at the moment and plenty of new venues are coming to the table, there have also been some recent notable closures of popular venues. Off the back of the huge announcements that Roxie’s, Midnight Spaghetti, and more would close, it’s fair to say crowds have been left disheartened.
Here are the latest venues that are closing their doors, and the ones that have just opened.
Closures
Four Sides

Modern Australian hotspot Four Sides Bar and Kitchen has closed its Hyde Park doors after opening in mid-2023. In an Instagram post announcing the closure, the restaurant said, “This place has been more than just a restaurant – it’s been a home for good food, great conversations, and even better company.”
“The reality is, hospitality is on its knees. Running a venue in this climate has never been tougher, and so many incredible local businesses are doing it tough.”
Four Sides co-owner Baz Rampal also has Bistro Francais on King William Rd to his name, which will look to take the reins for now.
Landough’s Donut Shop

After opening its doors in mid-September of 2023, Landough’s has broken the bittersweet news of its closure in a unique manner over social media. The Brighton donut shop announced its closure with the help of the owners’ three-year-old son. “It’s Lando here – the almost 3-year-old CEO/CFO/COO and all round cool guy. I have a spot of bad news, but I do have some good news to follow,” the post read.
“Donuts don’t fit into the weekly budget any more, especially when Curtis‘ $10 feed-your-family meals now constitutes entirely as a bag of shredded cheese,” Lando continued.
Josh Rivers and his partner Chimere also own Jetty Road cafe CREAM, which has just welcomed Diamond Burger which opens seven days a week from 4:30pm. The announcement post also hints that the couple have something else exciting planned for CREAM.
Les Deux Coqs

After a tragic fire devastated the Les Deux Coqs Stirling location just a month ago, owners Bastien & Katia have just called time on their Rundle Mall store as well. The business made the announcement on social media saying they would close the two-year lease with a final trading day on March 9th.
“It has been an absolute pleasure serving you, on your way to work, at lunchtime, after work, when you went shopping. We are so grateful for your love and support over the years. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for being a part of our journey in Rundle Mall.”
You can still find Les Deux Coqs at stall 2 in Adelaide Central Market and at markets and pop-ups in Willunga, Mount Barker, Stirling, and GD Wholesale Fruit Supplies in Hawthorndene.
Two-Bit Villains

After 14 years of mouthwatering vegan burgers and delightful hand-crafted sodas, Two-Bit Villains is seeking a new owner for the restaurant. Set up in the historic Grand Ballroom of Adelaide Arcade, the restaurant’s balcony overlooks the bustling mall.
The iconic vegan restaurant is looking for someone to either take on Two-Bit Villains or to bring the space into an exciting new era with a fresh concept.
