Lato Cakery is December’s Adelaide Central Market Producer in Residence

Run don’t walk, Lato Cakery has popped up in the Adelaide Central Market!

Lato Cakery located in Maylands is famed for its delicious Slavic honey cake made using a traditional family recipe. 

The five-layer honey cake features alternating pure South Australian honey with layers of delicious caramel cream, topped with Australian walnuts. 

The perfect treat is ideal for morning tea. 

The handmade cakes have popped up in the central markets Producer in Residence Stall. 

The Producer in Residence stall is home to small South Australian producers, start-up retailers and new eateries to test their products and business ideas in the very real marketplace! Located in the North West Grote Street entrance (next to O’Connell’s Meats), you’ll find a new producer every three weeks.

Lato Cakery will be in residence until December 24th giving all sweet tooth’s plenty of time to try the delicious treat. 

Owner Maria bakes everything from scratch in her council approved home kitchen using 100% South Australian ingredients including free-range eggs and local honey. The cakes are preservative and artificial colour free. 

Lato cakes contain no animal fat or gelatin and are available individually or in packs of four.

Lato also produces a delicious baked cheesecake: try a slice of creamy baked cheesecake topped with homemade caramel cream and honey biscuit crumbs. All cakes are handmade using 100% South Australian ingredients.

Sample Lato cakes for yourself every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, until Christmas Eve at the Adelaide Central Markets.
