Culinary arts institute Le Cordon Bleu Adelaide is set to host its first-ever pop-up patisserie at the Adelaide Central Market’s community kitchen today, Thursday May 2.
For one day only, the pop-up will offer an exclusive glimpse into the world of high-end patisseries, demonstrated by the skills of its budding pastry chefs.
The event will feature a delectable array of sweet treats, including petit gateaux, princess almonds, and chocolate bon-bons, offered to the public at reduced prices.
Patisserie lecturer at Le Cordon Bleu Adelaide, Jenni Key, expressed her enthusiasm about the event:
“We are absolutely thrilled to showcase the talent and dedication of our students at the Adelaide Central Market,” Jenni Key said.
“This event not only celebrates the art of patisserie, but provides our students with a rare opportunity to interact with the public and gain valuable industry experience.”
One of the highlights of the pop-up event will be the live cooking demonstration focused on the art of truffle making, in which market-goers can observe the skills involved in their creation.
“Visitors to the market will be able to experience firsthand the precision and skill that goes into creating these luxurious confections and be able to purchase on the day, too,” Jenni said.
Designed as an educational platform for students, the pop-up will serve more than just a visual and taste spectacle, enabling students to enhance their customer service and sales skills.
