Wine lovers prepare yourselves, another mini wine festival is hitting Adelaide’s CBD. Leigh Street, one of the city’s prettiest streets (if you ask us), is set to be transformed as the Clare Valley gives us a taste of what is to come at this year’s 2016 Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend.
The event’s launch will see the country come to the city for one night only as Leigh Street is transformed into a pop up tasting destination, Clare Valley on Leigh Street.
Twenty wineries will showcase new vintage varieties, flagship wines and of course, iconic Clare Valley Rieslings at the must-see Pop Up event. There will also be information and offers on the upcoming 2016 Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend to be held from 13-16 May.
Chair of the Clare Valley Winemakers Incorporated Matthew Lawson said Clare Valley on Leigh Street will be a great opportunity for the public to sample the very best of the Clare Valley in the one location in the heart of the city.
“We wanted to bring a little snapshot of Clare to the city and show people what makes our region truly special,” he said. “What better place to do this than at the trending dining precinct, Leigh Street, which will be transformed for one night into a wine lover’s laneway.”
“We also see this as a great opportunity to launch the 2016 Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend and encourage customers to jump on board our regional food and wine festival and head up to the event in May,” he said.
Clare Valley Winemakers Incorporated Executive Officer Tania Matz said the Clare Valley on Leigh Street, will be a fabulous evening of food and wine.
“The event will kick off at 4.30pm, so city workers can come straight after work, or grab a drink before dinner. Entry is by purchase of a commemorative wine glass for $10.00 which visitors can keep,” she said.
