Let’s Go Caravan Show puts spotlight on South Australia’s regional gems

The 2024 Let’s Go Caravan, Camping & Outdoor Show is set to target the valuable self-drive market while contributing to the state’s ongoing flood recovery efforts.

Thousands of adventure-seekers and outdoor enthusiasts are expected to flock to the 2024 Let’s Go Caravan, Camping & Outdoor Show, which kicked off on Wednesday, in anticipation of discovering the hidden gems of regional South Australia.

This five-day extravaganza aims to target the valuable self-drive market while contributing to the state’s ongoing flood recovery efforts.

With 89 percent of domestic caravan and camping trips nationwide directed towards regional areas, South Australia is keen to capitalise on this trend. The event will specifically highlight the picturesque Murray River regions, drawing attention to the Riverland and Murray River, Lakes & Coorong areas.

“Thousands of potential visitors will see South Australia at every turn at the 2024 Let’s Go Caravan, Camping & Outdoor Show this week,” Minister for Tourism, Zoe Bettison, says.

“We know caravan parks in particular were significantly impacted by the once-in-a-century flooding event last summer, and this is another way we are helping drive visitation and spend into their businesses and showcasing our state’s mighty Murray to an engaged audience.

“What perfect timing to be supporting a key caravan and camping industry event and targeting the valuable self-drive market, with the ballot for the third round of our River Revival Voucher program opening next week.”

The upcoming third round of the SATC’s River Revival Voucher initiative will encourage attendees to register for the ballot and explore the region. Additionally, the program will inspire travellers to consider the Murray River regions as a destination during the cooler months, with or without a voucher.

Visitors can expect an array of stalls, live sessions, and a dedicated ‘Let’s Go Road Trips Pavilion,’ which will offer invaluable insights from local operators about why these regions are ideal for caravan and camping adventures. The event will also feature a captivating ‘Magic of the Mighty Murray’ discussion series, showcasing the diverse tourism offerings across the river regions.

“The self-drive market is integral to the success of operators such as ourselves who are located in the regions. Without the self-drive market Canoe the Coorong wouldn’t be the business it is today,” Brenton Carle, Owner/Tour Guide Canoe the Coorong, says.

Adding a delectable touch to the event, the SATC’s bakery bags, part of their existing road trip campaign, will tantalize taste buds with regional bakery delights, further enticing travelers to explore South Australia.

Exhibitors at the event, including Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary, Australian Native Food Co., Canoe the Coorong, and Turkey Flat Vineyards, among others, will showcase the state’s diverse offerings.

The 2024 Let’s Go Caravan, Camping & Outdoor Show promises to be an immersive experience, celebrating South Australia’s natural beauty and vibrant tourism offerings. As it continues to captivate attendees until February 18th, it serves as a reminder of the endless adventures awaiting those who choose to explore the roads less traveled in regional South Australia.
