Liam West from Lightly Salted has been named Professional Photographer of the year at the EPSON SA AIPP State Awards dinner at the Tivoli Hotel on Wednesday night.

Liam started Lightly Salted in 2004 after working as a freelance designer in Adelaide and the UK for five years. His passion for photography grew after taking multiple trips to Southern Africa taking photos of the wildlife and documenting his journey.

He began assisting two veteran Adelaide commercial photographers at a studio in Norwood  and eventually started managing for them. From there he built up his portfolio and eventually moved into his own studio in Hackney in 2009. Liam’s wife Lisa came on board in April of that year to run the business full time.

“Being selected as ‘SA’s EPSON AIPP Professional Photographer of the year’ is the realisation of a dream and I’m very humbled to have received such amazing recognition from the industry. This year has seen a lot of growth for the team at Lightly Salted and this title really is the icing on the cake. We are very grateful to the many fantastic sponsors and of course the AIPP” said Liam.

Lightly Salted is predominately a commercial/advertising studio but they also offer a range of services from product photography, corporate portraits to high-end advertising and fashion. Recent projects include the last two Rundle Mall Unique Magazines, City of Salisbury’s Living Legends portraits and the “Win a Coopers Scooter” campaign at the Adelaide Casino.
