The showpiece of Illuminate Adelaide’s inaugural program, Light Cycles in the Adelaide Botanic Garden has been extended.
Due to incredible demand and multiple sold-out sessions, organisers today announced its season will be extended by a fortnight, with a new closing date of Sunday 22 August. Having already had an extra week of sessions added after the lockdown pause, the stunning immersive work was due to close on Sunday 8 August, but audiences now have a further two weeks to enjoy it.
With an approved Covid-safe plan including reduced capacity and masks being mandatory and not to mention five-star reviews this is a ‘must see’ experience by Canadian multimedia studio Moment Factory.
Illuminate Adelaide Co-Founders and Creative Directors Lee Cumberlidge and Rachael Azzopardi said: “We are overwhelmed with the audience responses in the last 48 hours.
“Light Cycles has been a sell out this weekend and, in an effort, to help ensure it is accessible to the people of South Australia, we are delighted to extend the season for two weeks.
“Our city-wide outdoor program, City Lights will close tonight at 11pm, so come into the city with your friends and family, bring a jacket and your mask and explore the 40 plus installations, lasers and projections across the CBD. We are so thrilled that South Australians have embraced it. The whole city has been alive this weekend.”
