Light Up Your House For Christmas And Win!

You could win some coin by just decorating your house this year for Christmas if you live in this area.

Dust off the Christmas lights and pump those inflatable Santas, folks! It’s time to get into the Christmas spirit and show us what you’re packin’. Particularly if you live or work in the City of Charles Sturt.

The council is outwardly encouraging residents to decorate their houses in the lead up to Christmas for a chance to win some extra coin in time for the big day. And let’s be honest, it’s also the is the perfect opportunity to go all “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” (minus the city-wide power outage… Adelaide’s been there, done that).

There will be three winners.

People’s Choice: $500
People’s Choice Runner Up: $250
Mayor’s Choice: $250

To be in the running you’ll need to head to, upload a photo of your display, your address and contact details by midnight on 7 December 2017. Christmas light photography not your forté? No dramas. They’ve put together a list of handy tips to perfectly capture your display. Unfortunately the competition is only open to City of Charles Sturt residents, but for the love of reindeer, please do not let this stop you from getting involved. We want to see Adelaide LIT this year.

The public will be voting for their favourite lights displays on Council’s Facebook page from Monday 11 December until midnight on 31 December 2017, with winners being announced early in 2018.

Ps. if you don’t live down that way, now might be the time to move. Not only have they got this awesome Christmas initiative, the Henley Beach redevelopment sounds fricken’ incredible. Check out what’s in store below.
