‘LIMBO – The Return’ brings seduction and acrobatics to Fringe in international debut

Much anticipated LIMBO -The Return headlines The Garden of Unearthly Delights at this year’s Fringe, in an otherworldly circus extravaganza!

Adelaide Fringe is set to dazzle with the return of a favourite that transcends the ordinary—Strut & Fret’s LIMBO – The Return at The Spiegeltent at The Garden of Unearthly Delights from Friday the 16th of February to Sunday the 17th of March.

This headlining spectacle of otherworldly proportions is set to make its international debut at Fringe and is sure to ignite the festival atmosphere with its unique blend of cabaret, circus, and acrobatics, accompanied by an eclectic live music score.

For those who have been entranced by Strut & Fret’s previous masterpieces, such as Blanc de Blanc and The Party, LIMBO – The Return is a reimagining of the award-winning festival favourites, LIMBO and LIMBO Unhinged, and is an invitation to a captivating party where the veil between the divine and the infernal is tantalisingly thin. Be prepared to be swept into a world of wonder and excitement where the impossible becomes possible.

Scott Maidment, the creative maestro behind Strut & Fret, says, “Audiences will be whisked away to a sinister netherworld of gut-churning contortion, breath-taking acrobatics, and jaw-dropping stunts. This is a high-powered extravaganza that leaves you gasping for breath, dancing in the aisles, and shedding a tear.”

LIMBO – The Return’s ensemble is a carefully curated combination of international talent—composer and New York’s Jank maestro Sxip Shirey leads a live ensemble featuring Sydney’s Mick Stuart, who weaves together irreverent electro-acoustic noise with playfully sexy beats. Shirey’s haunting melodies are delivered from an arsenal of peculiar instruments, ensuring that the audience is not just watching but experiencing a true symphony of the senses.

The stage will be graced by circus darlings like Maria Moncheva, known for her spellbinding performance in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in Germany, and Mikael Bres, the French artist who combines gravity-defying feats with comedic brilliance. Joining them is Australia’s own Hilton Denis, an acrobatic dancer who embodies rhythm and agility, and Spain’s David Marco, a slackrope virtuoso whose stunts defy belief.

LIMBO – The Return is tailored for the thrill-seekers, the dreamers, the romantics, and the adventurers. It’s for those who appreciate the blend of raw physicality with the sublime artistry of music.

This is your cue to step into a realm where each performance is a brushstroke on a canvas of night. With a show so entrancing that even Madonna couldn’t resist its seduction—attending once, then returning for more—LIMBO – The Return promises a night at Adelaide Fringe that will be talked about long after the Spiegeltent’s lights dim.
