In celebration of the 10 year anniversary since the release of his acclaimed debut album – “Autumn Flow” – renowned Australian singer songwriter Lior is heading out on a national theatre tour, performing the album in its entirety from start to finish, as well as selected favourites from his back catalogue. To co-inside with the 10 year anniversary “Autumn Flow” will be re-released featuring previously unavailable tracks.

Lior burst on to the Australian music scene in 2005 with his stunning debut album – “Autumn Flow”. Recorded and released entirely independently, and spearheaded by the much loved and timeless opening track “This Old Love”. Subsequent singles “Daniel” and the title track “Autumn Flow”, both securing high rotation airplay via the national broadcaster Triple J which further cemented this album into the hearts of the Australian public. The album was released in a time when independently funded and released records were still a rarity, with artists such as Lior and John Butler paving the way for a model that is now deemed common place. Thankfully, the faith and belief in the music paid off with the album becoming one of the most successful independent debuts in Australian history with sales surpassing Platinum status. A swag of accolades followed, including three ARIA nominations (including Best Male Artist), as well as Triple J’s prestigious ‘J Award’ nomination for Album of the Year.

“I was driving late one night shortly after releasing “Autumn Flow” when the radio announcer on Triple J intro’d ‘This Old Love’ by some new independent artist. I was just getting over the fact that they had actually decided to play one of my tracks when she came back on the air after the song had finished saying that she had been inundated by calls from people wanting to find out about this track and artist. It blew me away and I think it was then I realised that there was something about this album that could connect with people in a special way.”

‘Autumn Flow’ signalled the arrival of one of Australia’s most respected and loved singer/songwriters, showcasing an artist that has gone on to create a varied and diverse musical legacy. Alongside three other highly acclaimed studio albums – “Corner of and Endless Road”, “Tumbling into the Dawn” and most recently “Scattered Reflections” Lior also won the coveted – Best Original Song Composed for the Screen at the 2012 APRA Screen Music Awards for his song “Hey Hootabelle”, a track commissioned by the ABC for their much loved series “Giggle and Hoot”. In 2014 Lior won the “ARIA Classical Album of the Year” award for “Compassion”. Commissioned by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the work was collaboration with his long-time friend and renowned Australian composer and conductor Nigel Westlake.

Joining Lior on stage  will be some of Australia’s most talented and respected musicians, including Brett Hirst who originally played on “Autumn Flow” and who has been a live main-stay in Lior’s band ever since. Evan Mannell who has played with Faker, James Morrison, King Curly and Elana Stone will be on drumming duties alongside Sydney based percussionist, drummer and composer Bree Van Reyk (Sydney Dance Company, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Sarah Blasko and Darren Hanlon ). The highly regarded Melbourne musician Ben Edgar will be on guitar duties, a man of many genres who has performed with the likes of Missy Higgins, Megan Washington, Vika and Linda Bull and Gurrumul. Rounding out the world class band is Newcastle native Gerard Masters on piano, a long-time friend and cohort of Lior’s.

With this stellar line up re-creating one of Australia most loved albums it’s sure to make for an incredible evening of music!
